Evelyn has been planning her snow activities since before her birthday in mid-October. She was so excited to see our first measurable snow when she came down this morning. Excited to the point where I thought she was going to cry due to happiness. Then a little bit later she actually did cry when she realized there was snow on her tire swing that Daddy was going to take down before it snowed.
As soon as she got outside on the patio she immediately got down and began to make several snow angels. In fact most of her playing took part on the patio because the snow just seemed like more there than on the grass since the grass was still visible.
She was pretty disappointed that there was not enough snow to make a snowman or go sledding, but I promised her we would get to do that this year. So she spent her time shoveling with her sand shovel (I hear Santa might be getting one her size), pretending to fall onto the grass and have me and Beefcake find and rescue her, throwing snow clumps at Beefcake for him to try and catch (don't worry, he likes this, though he was strangely bothered by the swishing noise she made when she walked in her snow pants), and she made a really cute song up while she was throwing the snowballs.
Here she is on the front walk drawing a ghost in the snow....I don't really get it.
Her post snow snack consisted of a big carrot, water, and hot cocoa (I let her add her own marshmallows--she didn't get to eat that whole bowl). And by hot cocoa I mean she ate most of the marshmallows she put in, had a couple spoonfuls and managed to get a good cocoa mustache and then she was done. This was the third time I've made her cocoa since someone (mom) told me she drank it at her house, and this was the third time she didn't drink it.
